Killer Kowalski

Writes Dan Davis:

As you know, Ron Paul today officially announced his 2012 presidential candidacy in the Exeter, NH, Town Hall.

Though I wasn’t able to attend, I watched the live stream on YouTube. It was a moving experience, since I grew up in Exeter, and I have some poignant memories of that typical New England hall. My parents would bring me there when they voted. On another occasion, my Dad, two brothers. and I watched from the hall’s balcony as the professional wrestler, ‘Killer Kowalski,” pummeled some unfortunate local amateur.

In 1972, I cast my first presidential ballot there for Nixon,(ouch!), and later attended several raucous town meetings in that building.

These memories all came back as I watched Dr. Paul deliver his message of liberty.

Later today, I recalled how I had discounted Paul’s 2008 campaign, instead volunteering for the pitiful Bob Barr. It also struck me that the enthusiasm I now have for Dr. Paul is a consequence of my daily reading of LRC.
