Add Pounds and Lose Muscle with the Low-Fat Diet
by Greg Perry
For a few years now, I've been saying that eating fat doesn't make you fat.
Quite the opposite happens. Yet, as grocery aisles have consumed more space devoted to low-fat and no-fat foods for the past 30 years, American waistlines have grown larger.
My contention is that a low-fat diet makes us fat.
Low-fat milk for children is extremely dangerous, as Dr. William Campbell Douglass has been saying for 30 years. That danger of low-fat milk combined with pasteurization and homogenation is EXTREMELY HARMFUL as he explained so clearly in his book, "The Milk of Human Kindness Is Not Pasteurized."
The problem is I've only said it for a few years. God has taken a very positive stance toward fat for 6,000 years now. Early in His Scripture's very first book He tells us how much he loved Abel's offering that kept the fat of the flock: "And Abel, he also brought of the firstlings of his flock and of the fat thereof. And the LORD had respect unto Abel and to his offering." (Gen 4:4).
A Loser Finds Importance in a Lie
The McGovern Committee in 1977 is the primary reason for this deception. George McGovern used to be known as "The Biggest Loser in Presidential History." It's too bad he's not still known for that. Instead, history knows him better for his McGovern Committee. That committee, funded by leftists with a skew towards animal rights, created food requirements for the American people that HAD ABSOLUTELY NO BASIS IN A STUDY WHATSOEVER. Absolutely no scientific research was involved that produced their results that the National Cancer Institute and the FDA immediately adopted.
For 30 years we've been told that fat makes us fat.
For 30 years we've tried to avoid fat.
For 30 years we've gotten bigger.
But it's far worse. It's not just our waistlines that have suffered. Cancer and heart disease HAVE BOOMED in the past 30 years. Wonder if there's a connection?
Cancer, Heart Disease, and Fat
Nobody is ready to say there's a cancer/heart disease correlation to the low-fat lie we've all believed due to the Biggest Loser in American Presidential History saying that we shouldn't eat fat for 30 years. Well, actually I'm ready to say there's a connection but I don't have any qualifications to support that claim.
But the scientific community IS ready to say the following: "The largest study ever to ask whether a low-fat diet reduces the risk of getting cancer or heart disease has found that the diet has no effect."
And when someone with a propensity to HATE higher-fat animal diets publishes the results of that study — as the New York Times did this week in the article — that lends even more credence to the truth of the conclusions.
