You Knew It Would Come to This

Kill for the Empire, and you’ll receive “extra respect” from the TSA (hmmm: who knew it showed any respect to start with?): Rep. Chip Cravaack [R-MN] is sponsoring legislation that will require “an expedited new system [of unconstitutional, warrantless searches] … for all members of the U.S. armed forces as well as their families traveling on official orders,” Human Events reports. The “system” will “include screening guidelines for military uniforms and combat boots, with the goal to reduce wait times and other inconveniences.” Not sure if irradiation and sexual assault comprise “inconveniences” in HE’s neocon eyes or whether they’re privileges for which good serfs gratefully lick Their Rulers’ boots. Nor does the article enlighten us as to whether troops and taxpayers alike will continue suffering these horrors.

Opines the cracked and craven Cravaack, “Our soldiers who are putting their lives on the line in Afghanistan, Iraq, Libya and elsewhere … shouldn’t be viewed as potential terrorists in our airports.” Of course not! Reserve that insult for civilians.

“Cravaack said he wrote the legislation after watching a soldier in uniform undergo the laborious and sometimes humiliating TSA screening process [sic for ‘sexual assault’]. ‘I said, this is just wrong,’ Cravaack told the editorial board of the Duluth News Tribune last week. … ‘These guys just want to go home.’”

Oh, indeed. Don’t we all?
