WaPo, one of the Obama administration’s house organs, has condemned the LA poster of Obama in Heath Ledger’s Joker makeup, with the caption SOCIALISM, as esthetically inferior to the Obama red and blue Che-ish HOPE poster, and as racist. Here is a way to tell if the latter charge is true: would a similar poster of Bush also been some sort of hate crime? The Christian right and the neocons might have said so, but it would have been just powerful political commentary, like this poster of Obama. The campaign to demonize his opponents as morally deficient is getting more hysterical, but you know what? It is not working. (Thanks to Travis)
