The text near the gorilla’s knee on this World War I enlistment poster reads: “If this War is not fought to a finish in Europe, it will be on the soil of the United States.”
The government recycles its warmongering propaganda, as this old poster shows. Human emotions do not change, and therefore the same emotional appeals work again and again until (or if) people learn how to resist them.
