Willie Nelson Forced To Sing for His Freedom

It’s nice to see that Willie Nelson won’t be going to jail for his recent pot bust because the yokel prosecutor is giving him a plea deal. Instead, Nelson will pay a small fine and — if the article is to be believed — be required to sing “Blue Eyes Cryin’ in the Rain” in the courtroom. In other words, the judge will get to humiliate Willie and force him to perform slave labor for her personal enjoyment. How cute.

Of course that’s not as bad as what you’ll get if you’re busted and don’t have any talents that will sufficiently amuse your rulers: jail.

Says the prosecutor: “You bet your ass I’m not going to be mean to Willie Nelson.”

Of course you’re not. Willie Nelson isn’t a poor black person.

UPDATE:  The judge now says it was a joke, and Willie can just pay the fine.
