Will Easy-Bake Oven Become the Next Low-Flow Toilet?

Because of the new federalista-environmentalist war on light bulbs, the traditional Easy-Bake Oven is in a hot spot. The incandescent light bulb that cooked the cakes for millions of aspiring bakers will be phased out (read: forcefully banned) in 2012, so Hasbro has made a major announcement:

“We are aware that the 100-watt incandescent light bulb will no longer be available beginning in 2012. In fall 2011, Hasbro will launch the Easy-Bake Ultimate Oven, introducing a new way to bake for the next generation of chefs. This new oven features a heating element that does not use a light bulb and offers an extensive assortment of mixes reflective of the hottest baking trends for today.”

I wonder if the new eco-friendly ovens will be as non-effective as the plastic, round-tipped lawn jarts that replaced the sharp, steel jarts of old days? (When it was apparent those were going to be banned, I ran out and picked up two older sets of real jarts. Hint, hint.)
