Where Countering the U.S. Government Is At

Among other places, it’s at the level of the individual states: nullification, tenth amendment, secession, passing such laws as a law against patdowns as was proposed and withdrawn in Texas (see Stephen Kinsella’s post.) As matters are taken to absurd heights like patdowns at proms, we can expect more of this resistance. When Obama committed U.S. force in Libya in violation of the War Powers Resolution (which calls for prior consultation with Congress) and when Congress failed to do anything about it, the U.S. government was shown again unable to obey even its own laws! The individual states are where obvious sites of resistance reside. Wouldn’t you love to see some bold governor or some bold state legislature summon the requisite backbone and resist Washington and tell them where to get off?
