Where Are These Popular Westerns?

Life without videotapes and dvds would be far less entertaining! I pruned out many fine major westerns from my favorites list because they already were so well known. I even left off some of the noirish westerns, and I’m a film noir fan too. Again, I’m leaving off spaghetti westerns, but clearly those of Sergio Leone are terrific pictures and there are many, many more in that sub-genre. There is a spaghetti westerns data base on the web. So here comes another list of majors that are popular and populate many lists, plus more offbeat ones that are good but not that familiar. There are 7 Randolph Scott-Budd Boeticher collaborations, so I listed only 2. Scott made at least 50 westerns. Joel McCrea and Audie Murphy each made at least 29 westerns.
