I did not object because I was not a smoker. Now the FDA is considering mandating nutrition labels on restaurant menus. After all, without government help we will never figure out that a diet of super-sized Big Macs, fries and pizza is not healthy — and Big Brother wants his children to be healthy.

The state’s war on smoking started with warning labels, so don’t be surprised if the labels are followed by new regulations on the food industry. For our own good, of course.

Yet there are still those who say it is good that W beat Gore because Gore would expand the regulatory state!
