‘When Did We Stop Caring About Civilian Deaths During Wartime?’

Wondering about the Palestinians, that’s what Robert Fisk asks, and here’s the answer: “we” never cared. Fisk is English, but it is the same in our predecessor empire. Americans have never cared about the undermen who inhabit any place being attacked by the US. US civilian deaths count mightily. But the deaths of Mexicans, Southerners, Spaniards, Germans, Austrians, Japanese, Koreans, Vietnamese, Iraqis, Afghanis, etc. do not. They’re all just gooks, semi-humans who can be killed without a thought. Men, women, children–they all deserve death according to the nationalist religion. Indeed, they owe us thanks if the Pentagram doen’t kill them.
