Last year ESPN fired Hank (“Are You Ready for Some Football?!!) Williams, Jr. from his Monday Night Football singing gig because he criticized Obama on the FOX News Channel. Tonight, the opening night of the new NFL football season, NBC displayed a more politically-acceptable musical introduction: A dozen or so gay guys wearing faux “shoulder pads” prancing in circles around Mariah Carey as she sang one of her boring, monotone songs that sounded like every other song she ever sang. I’m sure it must have motivated millions to watch the game.
