What?! Steven Spielberg Is Wealthier than Lew Rockwell AND Yours Truly?! No Way!

The most pathetic critics of my research and writing on the subject of Lincoln are those who play armchair psychologist and pretend to investigate my “motives” in doing such things. Never any comment on the facts and analysis, only the assumption that anyone who questions any aspect of The Legend of Abraham Lincoln must do so out of dark and evil motives. (I have been informed, for example, that because I went to school at Virginia Tech, I am obviously a defender of slavery; and that because I teach at a Catholic University, I am also obviously part of the 160-year-old papal conspiracy aimed at a Vatican takeover of the U.S. government). The left-wing hate group known as the Southern Poverty Law Center asserts that any criticism of anything Lincoln ever said or did is necessarily the work of people who secretly wish that slavery never ended. They send out fundraising letters to the dumbest of the dumb, lowest-of-the-low I.Q. leftists in the country (they started with George McGovern’s mailing list) promising to keep an eye on such people for them in return for the biggest donation the low I.Q. crowd can afford. (They reportedly sit on a stash of as much as $20 million).

The latest Bozo to email me in this regard is one Richard Burnett ([email protected]), who informs me that the only reason I have commented recently on the forthcoming Steven Spielberg movie on Lincoln is that I am jealous that Spielberg will have a bigger audience than my writings on LewRockwell.com, or even my books, do.  What an insightful genius this man must be.

UPDATE:  Richard Burnett writes back to inform me that this blog proves his point that I’m really, really jealous of Steven Spielberg.  Are there more idiots in America today than there were just a few years ago?  Sure seems like it.
