In murder. A good example of why this was on display yesterday on WBAL Radio in Baltimore. A woman called in to a talk show on the subject of how roving gangs of “youths” and “students” have been beating tourists at the inner harbor. She was crying her eyes out. Her son’s high school baseball team had just won a championship game, and the losing team took revenge by going to the other school and beating some students, including her son, senseless. “He’s fighting for his life,” the poor woman sobbed.
Later, the talk show host asked Mayor Sheila Dixon, who has been indicted on more than 20 felony counts, what is being done about this. Her answer: She will “fight” for more federal funding for “Head Start” and other “childhood education” programs.” In Baltimore, crime — even murder — is simply taken as an excuse to wrangle more federal funding for the local political machine, i.e., the public school bureaucracy that runs the totally useless “Headstart” nonsense.
