We’re All Schizophrenics, Now

This is a shocking article about the psychiatry profession and its propensity to perpetually medicate people with anti-psychotic drugs because Big Pharma keeps psychiatrists well-employed as speakers, advisors, consultants, and drug pushers. Medical journalist Robert Whitaker has written a book about mental illness becoming a very lucrative profit center: Mad in America: Bad Science, Bad Medicine, and the Enduring Mistreatment of the Mentally Ill. According to the article on BBC News, ”about one in every hundred people faces being diagnosed with schizophrenia at some stage in their life.”

One in one hundred?

As Dr. Thomas Szasz, the heroic libertarian psychiatrist/academic, wrote, “If you talk to God, you are praying; If God talks to you, you have schizophrenia. If the dead talk to you, you are a spiritualist; If you talk to the dead, you are a schizophrenic.” Read Dr. Szasz on “The Problem of Psychiatry-Schizophrenia” and see his remarkable book, Meaning of Mind: Language, Morality, and Neroscience.
