Wal-Mart Helps the Poor Again

People without bank accounts pay huge fees to cash checks or transfer money. Wal-Mart to the rescue! The nimble company is circumventing the state. So the banks and their bought-and-paid-for parasites in government are unhappy, but let’s hope they can’t crush the poor again by hampering this great firm.

I wonder: how much concrete good has Wal-Mart done for the poor as compared to all the non-profit anti-poverty efforts? Vastly more, I’d guess. And they aren’t treated like dependents, but like customers!
