It occurs to me that those who criticize Bush for being slow to issue a statement about the tsunami are implicitly accepting the premise that the US runs the world and thus every natural or man-made disaster is the business of the maximum leader. After all, nobody criticized any Asian leader for being to slow to issue a statement after the hurricanes hit Florida.
