Virginia Drops Anti-Paul Loyalty Oath

A day before Ron Paul handily won the Virginia GOP’s straw poll, the Virginia Republican State Central Committee voted to remove the “voter loyalty oath” that had been previously ordered by the Committee.

The party had been widely criticized for asking the State Board of Elections to put the oath in place for the Feb. 12 primary. This was seen as a move against Ron Paul, since his supporters are less likely to support a pro-war nominee.
