Anyone who doubts how the mainstream media functions as little more than a propaganda extension of the political establishment, need only watch CNN today.  In its ongoing sharing of ignorance with Government functionaries regarding Edward Snowden, the “newscasters” repeatedly present the government’s position in terms of “we” and “our” (as in, “will we be able to . . .?”)  Meantime, on C-SPAN a couple days ago, one writer observed that there had only been two recent members of Congress who questioned any of the main government foreign policies: Dennis Kucinich and Ron Paul.  People who pay attention should quickly be disabused of the notion that the “two-party” system represents anything more than two wings of the same bird of prey!
