Claiming the failed sales tax proposal as the first victory, hundreds of residents eager to continue a “taxpayers revolt” filled an Amherst banquet hall Tuesday to organize and plan.

“Welcome to the second shot heard ’round the world,” said attorney James Ostrowski, founder of Free Buffalo, a new think tank/taxpayer advocacy group. “You said you wanted a revolution and here it is.”

The group’s credo is: “Free Buffalo from big government, political machines and special interests – because 45 straight years of economic and cultural decline are enough!”
