This is the Amish raw butter I bought from Detroit Eastern Market yesterday. Note the marvelous hand labeling. It does not say “raw” but little birdies tell me it’s raw, and the taste and color confirm that it’s raw. Imagine this: leaving it up to the consumer – me – to ask questions about the product and make the decision to buy or not buy. Oh my – that’s so unsafe. Do you think that the FDA, USDA, or the Michigan Department of Agriculture would approve of such labeling?
