Thoughts on tax protesting from a reader

From Graham C. Dugas III:

This anti-IRS stuff is a foolish and destructive waste of time and energy.

It is this simple. They have the guns, the cuffs and the bars. They are not hesitant to use them. They need no law. Don’t you get it? When did they ever need a law? They are totally unrestrained savages and they will do as they please. Death is not their last resort, it is often their favorite resort. The answer is not to resist them but to replace them.

If we can’t simply vote ourselves free, if we don’t resist unto blood, then why bother shuffling papers around in their Star Chambers?

Your time and energy is better spent educating people on the principles of freedom, the God-ordained limits of the role of gov’t, by making philosophical arguments, not pragmatic arguments. We should challenge them on ethical grounds. Propriety is the issue, not effectiveness. I don’t care if the whole world is fed and poverty is magically eliminated because some gov’t goon stole a penny from me, it is still wrong to steal. Of course they can’t even feed a classroom for less than $15/head but that is entirely beside the point. They shouldn’t be feeding anyone anything. It is not their role. Neither is education or a whole host of other things they do, especially acts of mercy and charity.

It is wrong to steal from Peter to pay Paul no matter who does it. Having a robe, a uniform, or a badge doesn’t make everything suddenly ethical. Until people object en masse, they can marginalize us and, ignore us and continue to oppress us. And why should God reward a nation who in large measure is full of indifferent and bloodthirsty people that doesn’t at all object to wanton slaughter, invasion and torture? Even a nuclear first strike is not out of the question.

“Those people who will not be governed by God will be ruled by tyrants.” — William Penn

Spread the word, educate people. Get people to withdraw their kids from gov’t education, wait at least one generation.
