Obama just added new tissue to the Public Health Frankenstein. He formed a “National Prevention, Health Promotion, and Public Health Council.” What’s its charge?
“…changes in Federal policy to achieve national wellness, health promotion, and public health goals, including the reduction of tobacco use, sedentary behavior, and poor nutrition…the promotion of transformative models of prevention, integrative health, and public health on individual and community levels across the United States…”
Day in and day out, the national government already does more to promote bad health than any other American institution. Barack Obama wins the Totalitarian of the Day Award (TODA): total control and total hypocrisy. Three years ago, I predicted “obesity rules and regulations” here. Much, much worse can eventually be expected of the growing Public Health Frankenstein, including euthanasia and restrictions on speech concerning health, one of LRC’s favorite areas.
