When I hear people talk about how gimmicks like the FairTax and the 9-9-9 plan are better than the current system even though the result is the same (the federal gov. still gets to spend trillions of dollars), I can’t help but think of the deck chairs on the Titanic being rearranged to look better as the ship went down.
