They Are Not Heroes Just Because They Are in the Military

It is unfortunate that the American national religion of military worship has infected American churches. Pastor Randall Wallace of the First Baptist church of Killeen (the home of Fort Hood) “has watched thousands of troops head off to war and then come home to Fort Hood.” “These are heroes,” he said. No pastor, they are not heroes just because they are in the military. They are not heroes for going overseas to fight some senseless war. They are not heroes for helping to carry out an evil U.S. foreign policy. They are not heroes for “defending our freedoms.” They are not heroes at all. In many cases, they are just young men who needed a job.
