The War Street Journal Speaks: On Iran

The neocons (emphasis on cons) are once again rattling the Iran cages. In its latest editorial on this subject, the Journal calls for “action” on Iran, although it does not limit its “options” to just a military strike or invasion. One of the options — get this — is to ban Iran’s soccer team from the World Cup tournament.

A few years ago, neocon Charles Krauthammer told a Hillsdale College group that the United States “stands astride the world” in a way greater than the Roman Empire. No doubt, the audience there applauded that stupid and untrue line.

These “bloodthirsticons” just won’t give up. The U.S. Armed Forces, which cannot even protect the road to the Baghdad airport, supposedly are going to be able to attack Iran and the mullahs there are going to turn in their resignations, and democracy will flourish — just as it has in Iraq.
