Here is another really bad piece of propaganda from the Michigan Primary Care Consortium that claims that those who make the choice to stay independently healthy and reject the vaccination nation are costing everyone else.
Adults were urged to roll up their sleeves and get their vaccinations as a report came out today showing that a failure to immunize costs Michigan nearly $500 million a year.
Grown-ups who duck out on the recommended shots end up with more emergency room visits, specialty medical care and lost productivity at work – not to mention pain and suffering – according to the Michigan Primary Care Consortium.
“Vaccine-preventable diseases like pneumonia and the flu continue to ravage adults across the state, resulting in the need for expensive treatments and hospital visits while driving down workplace productivity,” said Dr. Joseph Fortuna, vice-chairman of the Michigan Primary Care Consortium (MPCC). “Adult immunizations can save lives and boost the economy, but only if they are used.”
Boost the economy? Now I’ve heard everything. Except, perhaps, if vaccines can also sell more cars, boost public school test scores, drive up the stock market, and reduce unemployment and the federal deficit. A vaccine delivered in an injection or nasal spray to prevent heart attacks could be available within five years.
Scientists have discovered that the drug stimulates the body’s immune system to produce antibodies which prevent heart disease by stopping fat building up in the arteries.
It is the first time that the underlying cause of heart disease has been targeted. Current treatments focus on using drugs to reduce cholesterol levels and blood pressure.
