Lew:   Statists of varying stripes — particularly most of the Tea Party people — are wrapping themselves in the language of liberty in order to exploit the anti-state frustration and anger felt by many millions of people.  Ron Paul, the Austrians, and other principled voices of libertarian thinking represent a permanent threat to politically-directed systems; the libertarian sentiments of the millions must be dissipated and redirected to Leviathan’s purposes.  If cannibalism were to become popular, the statists-posing-as-libertarians would quickly embrace it.  We might even be treated to the spectacle of a “Sarah Palin Cookbook,” centered on the theme “how to serve our fellow man!”
