The State Distrusts Its Soldiers

I was astounded—and then not so astounded—to discover that the State did not allow its soldiers in the US to be armed. Oh, exactly as in the USSR, they can carry guns, not just ammo. So it makes sense for the State to forbid its soldiers, including those with high security clearances, to read Wikileaks. Can’t have the soldiers, who are subjected to even more propaganda than taxpayers to make them obey, discovering the truth about their overlords.

When the State starts to topple, soldiers and cops will have withdrawn their consent just as surely as civilians. And the toppling will be as a result of the State’s most cossetted allies, the fractional-reserve banks and their Federal Reserve, hitting the shoals of economic reality.

UPDATE from Ralph Haulk:

When I was in the marines during the Vietnam era, we were no longer allowed to carry our “bayonets”, since at least one drill instructor had been found “pinned” to his mattress while he slept.
