The Soviet Poverty Law Center Wants to Hear From You (Or Rather ABOUT You)

The creepy left-wing hate group known as the Southern Poverty Law Center labels anyone and everyone who disagrees with its hard-left, Marxist political agenda a “hate group” in the same moral category as Nazis, the KKK, terrorists, and much worse.  On their Web site are giant pictures of Nazis and KKK guys along with a list of more than 1, 000 “hate groups.”  The obvious implication is:  Birds of a feather flock together.  Included on this list of “hate groups” is LewRockwell.com; the Constitution Party; Oathkeepers — the group of police and military officers who reinforce their oath to protect the Constitution; and myriad conservative or libertarian organizations, especially if they call themselves “patriotic.”  They are all lumped in with some genuinely violent- and criminal-sounding individuals and organizations.  (One of its “reports” about the TEA Party was subtitled “The Year in Hate”).

But they need your help.  The SPLC, which boasts of its” close work” with “law enforcement” and the Department of Fatherland Security, is establishing its own version of the East German Stasi, the secret police force of thousands of spies, including many children.  “Send us your tips,” they say.  It has called for volunteers to report on any “hate” activity, which includes “extreme” anti-government sentiments expressed in “speeches, meetings, and publications.”  Of course, ALL anti-government criticism is “extreme” in the opinion of these statist shysters.  (Thanks to Travis Holte).

UPDATE:  Robert K. writes to send a quote from Thomas Jefferson “It is the old practice of despots to use a part of the people to keep the rest in order . . .”  Here’s the link to the 1798 letter from Jefferson to John Taylor.
