The Politics of War

Tom, your last post brings to mind the most disgustinging feature of modern politics: the treatment of war as a partisan issue. Witness how many Republicans who blindly support Bush opposed Clinton’s wars, while the same Democrats who rail against Bush blindly supported Clinton’s unilateral use of force to protect “human rights.” So if the next war is started by a Democratic President, we can expect e-mails from Democrats calling us unpatriotic, and praise from Free Republic for opposing the Democratic wing of the War Party.
