Here’s an Example Where I Wish Things Actually Were “Going to the Dogs”

My Duane Reade drug store has a sign posted on its entrance door stating that, although they love pets, the NYS Department of Agriculture and Markets does not allow them in the store.

Article 17 Section 271-7.30
(a) Live animals shall be excluded from within the retail food store operational areas and from immediately adjacent areas inside the store…Patrol dogs accompanying security or police officers shall be permitted in offices, storage areas and outside store premises…Guide dogs accompanying blind persons or deaf persons shall be permitted in sales areas.

Now let me ask you something? Which of these two live animals do you think I would rather see allowed in my Duane Reade drug store?
