The Nutty U.S. Government

Mike Rogers talked in his article today about how nutty American is becoming. Certainly the prize for the nuttiest has to go to the U.S. government.

I’m sitting here listening to NPR’s “On Point” about the financial woes of the U.S. Post Office and thinking what a bunch of nuts our Congress is made up of. Now, I am not a defender of the postal monopoly, the post office, or the postal union, but I think it is absolutely crazy that there is talk of cutting postal services and closing post offices and ending Saturday mail delivery and laying off workers when the U.S. government is spending billions of dollars each week fighting senseless foreign wars and then spending billions more maintaining an empire of troops and bases around the world. Stop the wars! End the empire! Bring the troops home! Let them deliver the mail instead of killing and getting killed.
