The ME Team

Brad Edmonds has a great article today demonstrating the importance of the [I]ndividual in a team. He frets that “It’s unfortunate that the word ‘team’ doesn’t have a letter i in it.” Never fear, there is a ME in team.

Remember that goofy old 80’s show the “A-Team” with George Peppard and Mr. T? Well, what made them such a good team, was that each individual in this soldier of fortune unit brought their own ME talents to the team. The Col. Hannibal brought leadership and organization, BA Baracus brought technical skills, Face was the smooth talking con man, and HA Murdock was the crazy ‘section 8’ who could fly anything.

Also what makes the ME-Team great from a libertarian standpoint, is that they could be categorized as Rothbardian type heroes working in direct competition with the state:

In 1972, a crack commando unit was sent to prison by a military court for a crime they didn’t commit. These men promptly escaped from a maximum security stockade to the Los Angeles underground. Today, still wanted by the government, they survive as soldiers of fortune. If you have a problem, if no one else can help, and if you can find them, maybe you can hire… The A-Team.

Make that the ME Team.
