TV commercials informing us that “ve vill provide you vith coverage you cannot refuse!” Perhaps Chuck Norris can be hired to play the role of “Super-Agent” in a TV series about a courageous and dedicated insurance salesman who goes out and captures individuals who self-insure their own risks!
With all the financial difficulties experienced by the major corporations – as well as the cutting back of multi-million dollar bonuses to corporate execs who mismanaged their enterprises – it may be time for Congress to step in and cover the expenses essential for keeping these failed managers in their accustomed lifestyles. Yacht payments? Country club fees? The get-away home in the Hamptons? Rather than just a big cash give-away, however – a piece of larceny so obvious that even Boobus might catch on – the entire project could be undertaken as an insurance program, whose premiums would be paid by the taxpayers. Isn’t this what “economic stabilization” is all about?
