I expected at most 100 people based on the meetup.com commitments and short notice (and change of venue!), but as you know the crowd was many times larger, and EVERYONE seemed to be passionately in agreement with ALL of Ron Paul’s supposedly out-of-touch positions. I think it is impossible to manufacture that kind of enthusiasm for things like sound money and keeping the federal government out of defining marriage, etc., among people who haven’t cultivated the wisdom for these ideas. Beyond the facts that young people are attracted to him, and that some liberals and leftists have sincere respect for him, I think there might be a large sleeper remnant that no one knew about. This is really getting interesting.”
