Tyler Cowan forgets one important thing in his tribute to Swedish liberty: the “individual freedom” of which he speaks depends upon someone else going to work to pay for this largess. It is disappointing to read a supposed free market economist attempting to convince the rest of us that governments simply are able to produce great wealth out of nothing. I guess that if government is the source of freedom, then the North Koreans are the most free people on the planet.
