As bad as Romney’s warmongering and police statism is, we should remember that he is pandering to the conservative base that he needs to get elected. Like any politician trying to get elected, Romney blows with the wind and moves with the tide. What is worse than Romney is his conservative base that loves war, torture, empire, the CIA, the warfare state, and bloated defense budgets—all while calling for free markets and limited government of course.
