I just received an email from Tom Palmer that included some cheap personal insults over my previous blog on Palmer and Putin. It seems that Palmer has trouble reading the English language. He protested that he is on record as saying he actually liked Karl von Habsburg, therefore, I should offer a correction of my earlier blog. But in my earlier blog I did not say that Palmer disliked von Habsburg personally. Read it for yourself. I only say that he smeared the Mises Institute because it invited von Habsbug to a conference. His basic argument (in Liberty magazine) was that the Institute was somehow associating itself with all the evil deeds of the 700-year Habsburg dynasty. This makes as much sense as saying that say, Friedrich Hayek, who was once honored by the British government, should therefore be condemned and criticized for associating himself with the history of British imperialism.
