The Crooks, Criminals, and Liars for the State Are Getting Nervous

This morning Faux News dragged Glenn Beck out of bed to further denounce the founder of WikiLeaks as a man who would literally “destroy the world” by informing the public about what our rulers tell us is in our “public interest,” namely, their foreign policy.  Then they spoke to Congressman Peter King, the “Ranking Member of the Homeland Security Committee” in Congress, who labeled the WikiLeaks founder as an “enemy combatant.”  It’s OK to shoot enemy combatants, in case you forgot.

Congressman King must be terrified that some of his filthy, dirty laundry might be included in the WikiLeaks, for the oh, so Germanic-sounding “Homeland” security bureaucracy that he presides over in Congress is what economist James T. Bennett calls the most outrageous boondoggle and waste of money in the history of the U.S. government.

From the very first day, it was set up as a money-making racket for political insiders and has never had much to do with “security.”  Professor Bennett gives chapter and verse of the mind-boggling sums of money that were doled out to political insiders for things that rarely, if ever, had anything whatsoever to do with the “security” of anyone or anything.  It was a colossal ripoff long before Michael Chertoff figured out how to get rich by selling the government  his company’s porno-tron machines.
