Lew, I think the power elite has been worried for a long time. Our readers might have the details, but I distinctly remember that, after Perot’s 1992 bid, Democrat Warren Christopher and Republican James Baker joined forces to make sure no third-party upstart, even a billionaire, could interfere with their bipartisan mockery of the Constitution every four years.
I’d appreciate hearing more details — was the focus the debates, or getting on the ballots, or both?
