Max Boot, the neoconservative who in the words of Juan Cole “never saw a war he didn’t like” (is there a neocon for whom those words are untrue?), although his knowledge of (and opinions on) American history are no different from those of the New York Times, is at least supposed to be a knowledgeable military historian. And yet read Martin Sieff’s review of Boot’s new book — have you ever seen a more systematic dismantling of any book, anywhere?

In other news, the pro-war, p.c. “libertarian” Cathy Young (you’re supposed to support the major American wars, don’t you know — good libertarians stand by their State when it mobilizes to protect our freedom!) got the boot from the Boston Globe.
