The Advice the Elite Will Never Take

In my nearly snowbound house this morning, I am perusing the web sites I normally read to see if there’s anything new. Foreign Policy has a whole bunch of “what should Washington do about the crisis in Egypt” (and my favorite — “Is Obama about to go wobbly on North Korea?”) and all sorts of other pieces o’ advice from the same “wise” people who created all these problems in the first place.

I originally went to Washington thinking I wanted to do that kind of work. But I soon discovered that the only advice I was morally capable of giving was the only advice Washington did not want to hear:

“Nothing.”
