But when it came to the Malvinas, the US risked all-out war with Argentina to back Maggie Thatcher’s claim to the Falklands. Cap Weinberger told me personally (unclassified—at a party) that we would have done it, too.

And what about World Wars One and Two? Wars the American people did not want, but that the British, Wilson, and Roosevelt very much did. Who was waltzing whom in that do-si-do?
