Supply siders for the state

Robert Murphy provides an excellent analysis of supply-side economics. I have previously addressed the evils of the supply siders here and here.

Any “tax reform” plan embraced by the GOP in the next four years will have the explicit goal of using supply-side economics to swell the state’s coffers with new revenues and thus strengthen the welfare-warfare state. Also, thanks to the supply-side gospel that excessive taxation is only bad when leveled on capital, expect the GOP to continue to ignore the tremendous burden placed on working Americans by the payroll tax and the GOP’s love affair with debt and inflation.
