State Department: Syrian Elections ‘Ludicrous’

State Department spokesman Mark Toner said yesterday that the parliamentary vote in Syria, where half the parties are opposed to the regime and thus represent real differences of opinion “borders on ludicrous” because he doubts that free elections could be held in that war-town country.

No word from Mr. Toner on the “ludicrous” elections in the United States, as evidenced here and here and here and here (need I go on?)…
