Kevin Zeese is one of the shrinking number of good, non-commissar progressives out there. This piece on the cost of the military establishment is very interesting and revealing. Here’s the comparison I found most enlightening — the federal government spends $430 million on public broadcasting (which I oppose, to be sure, and which Republicans usually pretend they want to cut), but it spends $500 million on military marching bands.
