Should the United States Arm Ukraine?

The new secretary of defense, Ashton Carter, said to the Senate armed services committee: “I very much incline in that direction.” Some conservative warmongers (sorry for repeating myself) think so. But why would libertarians even be talking about this? The U.S. should not arm Ukraine for the simple reason that the U.S. should not arm any country for any reason. If a country wants weapons it should phone up Lockheed Martin, Colt, or Boeing and place an order. And if these companies were smart, they would require payment upfront, in gold. I repeat, the U.S. government has no business arming any country for any reason. This is called neutrality and nonintervention—the only foreign policy option for a libertarian.
