Say what?

“Aside from his anti-war stance, Dr. Paul’s actual opinions probably matter little to his passionate supporters.”

Some newspaper in Dallas.

I was going to nominate that as the silliest quote on the campaign so far, but then I read this:

“Dr. Paul won’t be the Republican nominee.”

Say What?

From the Stephen Spruiell article on NRO: “One of the most interesting possibilities floating around out there is that, after the primaries are over, Paul could offer an antiwar, pro-life, third-party alternative to either Rudy Giuliani or Hillary Clinton (in 1988 Paul ran for president as a member of the Libertarian Party). If his fundraising continues at this pace, he might be tempted to do it. Something tells me it’s a possibility the Clinton camp isn’t exactly dreading.”

Why is it so obvious to Stephen Spruiell that Hillary Clinton would welcome an independent Ron Paul candidacy? If she’s the Democratic nominee, there will be plenty of ticked-off antiwar Democrats with no one to support. They are naturals for RP.
