Savage on Social Security

Michael Savage says mean-testing benefits is a horrible idea, right out of the Communist Manifesto. He says if you put into the system, the money the government gives you upon retirement – as in, the money stolen from current workers through payroll taxes – is your money, no matter how rich you are. Someone called to point out the pyramid-scheme nature of SS, to which Savage replied that the caller’s points had “no validity.”

Meanwhile, this morning, another conservative talker said the Democrats need to be more like they were fifty years ago, back when they understood values. I don’t know about you all, but I tend to prefer Clinton and Carter and the “Michael-Moore wing” of the DNC, as unsavory as they are, to FDR, Truman and LBJ.
